Wren Valentino is an actor, film producer, movie critic, and writer. As the bestselling author of twenty-one novels, Wren writes in multiple genres, primarily romance, thriller, young adult, and horror. To date, he has written more than seventy stage plays that have been performed in twelve countries in three languages. As a film producer, he has helped bring more than eighty independent movies to the screen. As an actor, he has been featured in twenty-five films. To date, eight of his original screenplays have been adapted for the screen. The pilot episode of his original television series Her Other Life has received multiple honors include First Prize in the Fade In Awards TV Pilot/Web Series Competition.
Wren is the bestselling author of twenty-one novels including The Everlasting Gift, Love in the Shadows, Mesmerized, and Wonder Land (Blue Dasher Press), the novelettes Miss Nothing, Riding with James Dean, and Snap Shot, and several short stories including the paranormal romance I Think We're Alone Now, the popular Christmas romance One Kiss From Mr. Christmas, the award-winning Halloween romances Bells and Spells and Pumpkin Love Charm, the holiday love story Warming Up, and a short story about two young people coping with grief titled Just Forget the World. His collections of poetry include Crimes Against My Nature, Love and Detours, Souvenir Boys, and Walking in the Underground. His literary work has appeared in Atomic Flyswatter (Long Shot Books), Disquiet Arts, Halfway Down the Stairs, Powders Press, Regency Reflections (Wingless Dreamer), and Wicked Gay Ways.
Wren received a Pushcart Prize nomination for his poem Cherry Drop. For his short story Home, Wren was named an international finalist in the Jane Austen Writing Contest.
His award-winning screenplays have received recognition at film festivals around the world including the Beverly Hills Film Festival, the Chicago Horror Film Awards, the Los Angeles Film Awards, the Omaha Film Festival, and the Scream Queen Film Festival. His original scripts have placed in several screenwriting competitions including the Filmmatic Horror Screenplay Awards, FinalDraft's Big Break Screenwriting Contest, the ISA Fast Track Fellowship, the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards, the Nashville Film Festival Screenwriting Competition, the ScreenCraft Feature Competition, and the WeScreenplay Shorts Contest.
The pilot episode of Wren's original television series Her Other Life received First Prize in the Fade In Awards TV Pilot/Web Series Competition. The script also received honors in the Filmmatic TV Pilot Awards and Final Draft's Big Break Screenwriting Contest in recognition of Diversity in Television.
As an actor, Wren has worked on twenty-five films, often as a voice actor and sometimes on-screen. His film credits include Amityverse, Desert Fiends 2, Four Nights in Fear Forrest, Friday the 13th Blood Loss, Gobblefoot, Night of the Strangers, Paula Takes the Stage, Shadows of the Night, Two Truths and a Lie, Venus Die-Trap, and more.
Wren graduated with honors from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and English. He earned a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at Queens University of Charlotte in North Carolina. He is a graduate of the Professional Program in Screenwriting at UCLA. Wren has been an educator for more than twenty years.
As the host and creator of Fantastic Classics, Wren writes reviews about films from all genres and eras of cinema.
As a proud member of Contemporary Romance Writers, Wren serves as the elected VP of Programs. He is also an active member of Disney's D23, the International Screenwriters' Association (ISA), and the Romance Writers of America, who presented him with a Volunteer Service Award.
He lives in Sacramento, California.
